HUGE NEWS: The Insect Defend Patch has finally received full approval from Health Canada!!

Hello Everyone,

WE HAVE REALLY BIG NEWS.....

Tuesday Nov. 27th will go down in history as a milestone day for this amazing product.

The Insect Defend Patch has finally received full approval from Health Canada!!!!!! We were issued our Natural Health Product number yesterday afternoon. We are now also known as NPN # 80037826.

We have been operating for over 5 years with an exemption number awaiting full approval. After a full review of our field test results and safety protocols, Health Canada has seen fit to finally give us the green light.

This is a huge breakthrough, to our knowledge we are the first and only Natural Health Product approved by Heath Canada PROVEN to help reduce mosquito bites. HC is well known as being one of the most stringent health organizations in the entire world. To finally receive their backing saying we DO have a positive effect in reducing mosquito bites proves what we have been saying all along.

FAQ #7 - We put the Insect DEFEND Patch on before driving up to the cottage, approximately 2.5 hours and got attacked when we stepped out of the car. Why?

The release of Thiamine (Vitamin B1) into the body works when the body is in motion. Try applying the patch before you start loading the vehicle and allow a little time after arriving (about the time needed to empty the vehicle) to best judge the results. This activity will result in the body’s chemistry reacting with the Thiamine (Vitamin B1) to produce an ‘invisible barrier’.

What you don't know about ‘citronella-based personal insect repellents’

Why aren't citronella wrist bands available in Canada?
Because no one has been able to satisfy Health Canada that they are actually safe...
Below is more information on Health Canada's reasoning behind this.

Citronella is an essential oil obtained from various species of lemongrass, where the leaves and stems are dried out and the oil is extracted. It can grow up to 1.5m and is grown in Sri Lanka, India, Burma and Indonesia. Also, it is related to the lemon grasses used in Southeast Asian cooking.

Health Canada reviewed the information available on ‘citronella-based personal insect repellents’ that get applied directly to the skin, in 2004. They found that there was a not a lot of safety data that supported the products continued registration, but Health Canada did not find any impending health risks. The product is allowed to stay on the market until a final decision is made.

FAQ #6 - I had noticed that alcohol and smoking will affect this product. Can you please explain further?

Alcohol and tobacco are known to affect blood chemistry and as a result can influence how the patch will work. Testing seems to indicate that those who are drinking or who are smokers will require re-application of the Insect DEFEND Patch more frequently than non-smokers or those who have not been drinking. Since both alcohol and tobacco are known to limit the effects of vitamins it may also be possible that the Insect DEFEND Patch is slightly less effective. Great question, try the DEFEND patch and let us know your experience!

The Insect Defend Patch on Dragon's Den

"The smallest product lands the biggest deal in Dragons' Den history." That was the opening line delivered by Ron Whittick, a distributor of the Insect Defend Patch, as himself and James Krane introduced themselves to the Dragons’. And that is exactly the deal they got.

James Krane of Milton, Ont., was a Subway Sandwich franchisee when an friend introduced him to an inventor from Phoenix, Ariz. The meeting led to the launch of Safety in Motion, Canadian distributor for Insect Defend Patch, a Vitamin B1 trans-dermal patch that protects against mosquito bites for over 24 hours.
